The digital alarm is a 20 second (not 2 minute) recorder. Each time it is plugged into power it outputs for 20 seconds. To replace the 20 seconds of sound, hold down the white button (with a ball point pen etc) for 20 seconds. The microphone is the little darm button. Then unplug it and plug it in to see how you did.
